I liked how fast the read was although I usually read longer books. I loved the language the author used, since this is a little older it seemed a bit funny at times. Some of the words I wasn't really familiar with since they have fallen out of our lexicon and I'm glad I have the Fire to just hold down the word for a second to figure out what he was talking about. It was interesting to learn about different politic figures that surrounded T.R. and what he was up against and not just what he accomplished like a lot of other biographies that I've read. Obviously the man was a friend so there was almost no negative comments about the man and none come to mind at the moment. There were times where he would say things like, "he would suffer no injustice to a fault," that was about the limit of the negative feedback. All in all it was a good read. And the price was right if you're buying it for a reader.

Old, but a great read. Written before WWII, but about 20 years after his death takes enough perspective away from any leftover sentiments from his time, but doesn't inject present day perceptions allowing the reader to better evaluate his contributions.

I knew that the book was from a library but there were coffee spills inside. This book was not in the condition discribed.
