No Place to Belong by Ann Warren is a beautifully written account of one woman’s life that was thrown into a perilous depression from an early age. By the 5th page of the book I was in tears with the realization of just how her life was going to be. Each step that Ann took throughout her life made me feel as if I was right there with her wanting to just grab her and hold her close to let her know that she was loved. Parting from the sadness, it was incredible to read of the many adventurous things that Ann has done in her life. From her work with the BBC to the relationships she has formed in her lifetime with some very amazing individuals, Ann has truly had an extraordinary life in so many ways.Losing her parents at a young age and then being passed from one cold home to another where she could never fully grasp what a loving family life was truly like was so painful to read. When she did finally find the love that many of us wish we had, it too was torn from her, yet even through the tragedy of losing the man she loved, she was able to proceed with her own life and begin to fulfil it in ways that many would not have the strength to do.I enjoyed reading each page as details of her faith, love and inner strength became more prevalent as each page was turned. Her faith was able to guide her into love, motherhood and a future that even she had no idea would be waiting on her as she traveled through life. Ann’s story made me truly see the beauty of the world through the eyes of a woman that has endured more pain as well as more love than many will ever see in their lifetime.Once I got to the end of this incredible journey, I was left with a desire to know how her life has turned out. It’s amazing how one’s own past can lead to a future that has such promise and joy. I leave this with the best of wishes to Ann and John for a long life of happiness. For those that don’t know who John is, I highly suggest that you read this amazing memoir. I can promise that you too will feel the pain, sadness, strength and love that Ann Warren has brought forth in her beautifully written journey of her incredible life.
